Cookies

ArtsCal.org uses very little browser storage, and nothing for advertising.
Local storage (on your device)
The app saves your picks, favorites, filters and a few settings (such as whether you have seen the intro) in your browser's local storage. As a guest this stays on your device and is not sent to us. The home page's sample cards keep a count of your swipes in your browser so the sign-in page can show it. Clearing your browser data removes all of this.
Session cookie (only if you sign in)
When you sign in we set one secure cookie so you stay signed in. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure, is used only for sign-in, and is removed when you sign out. A short-lived cookie is also used for a moment while you sign in with Apple or Google. Sign-in pages may also load a Cloudflare Turnstile check, which helps us block automated abuse.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and features are useful, so we can improve the site and the search results that lead here. It sets two small first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) for visitors in the United States. For visitors in the EU, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is off by default and no analytics cookies are set. We switch off every advertising feature: no Google signals, no ad personalization, no remarketing. We also run Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
We never send your email address, name, notes, custom tags, ZIP code or home base, search words, or account id to analytics. We send only event types (for example "swiped Interested", "opened a ticket link"), the genre and venue of the event, and the website a link went to. More is on the Privacy page.
Analytics is off automatically if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Your control
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The site still works for browsing, but signing in and saving picks will not.
